Useful Travelling Tips

For your next adventure

Take Lots of photos

You may only see these places & meet these people once in your lifetime. Remember them forever with plenty of photos. Great photos are the ultimate souvenir.

They don’t cost anything, they’re easy to share with others, and they don’t take up space in your luggage.

Photocopy Important Documents

Keep both digital and physical copies of your passport, visas, driver’s license, birth certificate, health insurance card, serial numbers, and important phone numbers ready to go in case of an emergency.

Backup your files & photos on an external hard drive as well as online.

Talk to the Locals

They usually have the best travel advice and insider knowledge on what to see, do and eat in their own town. It’s truly amazing what you will learn by striking up a casual conversation.

You’ll find that the locals love sharing travel info and stories about their town and are more than happy to help you have a memorable visit!

Local Language

Learning the basics of the local language is a great way to show respect and break down barriers. Plus a smile, a wave, and a friendly attitude can break down any barrier where language isn’t understood.

Get a phrase book, or an app, and make the effort to learn at least a few basic phrases.

Be Flexible & Patient

Things will work out in the end. No need to rush. You’ll get to where you are going in due time. Travel is about the journey, not the destination.  Leave room for flexibility in your itinerary. Take an unplanned road trip over to the next town and explore.

Go with the flow a little and don’t over plan.

Pack Smart

Select versatile, comfortable and loose fitting clothes and neutral colors that can be worn in multiple combinations so if something gets dirty you only have to change part of the outfit.  Pack the bare minimum because you can always buy it once there!

And don’t forget to bring a sarong!
